ELLE – A Woman’s Voice

On October 1st 2016 I premiered this theatrical recital in Amsterdam, together with pianist Gilbert den Broeder. The programme is approximately 40 minutes long and includes (operatic) repertoire by Poulenc, Smetana, Wagner, Verdi, Massenet, Barber, and Ravel.

Please take a look at the trailer here.

The story was inspired by Cocteau/Poulenc’s ‘La Voix Humaine’, Miss Havisham in Charles Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations’, and the opera ‘Vanessa’ by Barber. Here, I explore the theme of the abandoned woman, while giving her a voice through other operatic personas.

If you would like to know more about the programme or are interested in bookings, please do not hesitate to contact me.
